Settings and display

In the app, your settings are under Profile › Preferences: Units, Live rowing, Scenes & motion, Notifications and Apple Health. Each row shows what it's set to and opens Settings at that section. On norvin.fit they're under Profile › Preferences too, apart from the ones that belong to the phone (interval haptics, immersive mode and Apple Health).

Pace or watts

Under Display units, choose how effort shows: Pace (time per 500m — the rowing standard) or Watts (power). Choosing Watts also adds a Power tile to the live screen. Pace targets are always set per 500m.

Kilograms or pounds

Also under Display units: show and enter your weight in kilograms or pounds.

Interval haptics

Under Live rowing, Interval haptics taps your phone before each interval change, at the change, and at the finish — handy when you're not watching the screen. They're on unless you turn them off, and the setting is kept on this phone only.

Immersive mode

Set Motion to Full motion or Reduced, turn Stroke haptics on or off, and pick your default Scene. Immersive scenes.

Apple Health and notifications

Both have their own sections on the same screen. See Apple Health and Notifications.

Your training settings

Your goal, routine and baseline are in the Training section of Profile:

  • Goal & target and Routine & availability — changes apply to your plan from next week. How your plan is built.
  • Training profile — your experience level, any recent break, maximum and resting heart rate, year of birth and weight.
  • 2k pace — the pace your zones are built from. Your 2k pace and baseline.
  • HR & power zones — your heart rate and power zones. Auto means they're worked out for you: power from your baseline, heart rate from your maximum heart rate.

Text size, motion and VoiceOver

Norvin follows your iPhone's text size everywhere except the live screen, where the numbers are sized to stay readable mid-stroke. If Reduce Motion is on in your iPhone's accessibility settings, Norvin uses reduced motion too. VoiceOver reads out interval cues and connection changes during a row.

Theme

The app uses a dark theme throughout. On norvin.fit, choose Dark, Light or System under Profile › Preferences.
