Notifications

Norvin can remind you to row, tell you when your plan changes, and send a weekly digest — by push notification, email, or both. You choose which.

Turning push notifications on

Norvin asks before it sends any push notification. A card on Home asks A nudge on training days? — tap Turn on notifications and allow them when your iPhone asks, or Not now.

Changed your mind later? Turn them on in Profile › Notifications in the app. If you said no to your iPhone's prompt, allow notifications for Norvin in your iPhone's Settings › Notifications › Norvin.

Choosing what you get

In the app, under Profile › Notifications. On norvin.fit, the same switches are under Profile › Preferences:

  • Push notifications and Email notifications turn each channel on or off as a whole.
  • Each kind of message has its own switch:
    • Plan adaptations — when your plan changes.
    • Workout reminders — on days you have a workout, at the Workout reminder time you choose (7:00 unless you change it).
    • Weekly digest — a summary of your week.
    • Inactivity check-ins — a word after a week or more without a row.
    • Milestone celebrations — when you reach something worth marking.

Check that your Timezone is right, so reminders arrive at your time.

Quiet hours

Between 10pm and 6am, Norvin only pushes your workout reminder.

Messages about your account

A few messages don't have their own switch, because they're about your account rather than your training. They still follow the Push and Email switches:

  • your membership: when your free trial starts, when it has ended, and a free month to claim
  • when your plan finishes
  • leaderboard results, which have their own setting under Progress › Leaderboard › Sharing settings

The reminder before your free trial ends, the one a week before a yearly membership renews, and a payment Apple couldn't take are about a charge, so their email always goes out, even with Email switched off. Their push follows the Push switch.
